Send a Letter to Bishop Dolan

Dear Bishop Dolan,

You have reduced the number of Latin Masses in the Diocese of Phoenix. This is the fastest growing part of the Church. We would respectfully like the Latin Masses to be restored as they were under Bishop Olmsted. You are the Shepherd of the Diocese, please listen to the ‘voice of the people’. There is a real desire and hunger for the Latin Mass amongst the laity. This desire was made very clear at St. Edward the Confessor on Good Friday, with 600-700 persons in attendance and over a hundred outside in the overflow space.

These restrictive actions are the very definition of ‘clericalism.’ Please allow the widespread and generous use of the Latin Mass as it was under the former Bishop and the former Pope. Last year, you stated in your introductory conference “I’m not a person who likes to draw a line in the sand, I’m a person that likes to dialogue and not shut things down. We’re a better Church when we open our hearts…that’s better than drawing a line in the sand” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOoeaHfK8uQ&t=1623s. It seems like you have drawn a line in the sand as it relates to the generous acceptance of the Latin Mass in our Diocese. 

Please consider the full restoration of our Latin Mass options in our diocese, and especially here in the valley. We are praying for you daily to lead your flock well.
