Our Mission

We will disclose any moral error that may resonate from the bishop or clergy and inform and educate the laity. We want our Bishop to continue teaching us the “deposit of faith” and the perennial teachings of the Catholic Church. We also want to assist our Bishop through our prayers and penance to become as holy as possible (cf. Hebrews 12:14) because we love him in Christ (cf. John 13:35).

1 Tim 5:20 “As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.”

2 Corinthians 5: 9 – “. . . we make it our aim to please him (GOD).”

Ephesians 4:12-15 (RSV) “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”

Code of Canon 1752 “… keeping in mind the salvation of souls, which in the Church must always be the supreme law.”

In the name of Jesus Christ, we hope that all men may be saved by coming to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4). The greatest tragedy is the soul who will never attain the Kingdom of Heaven, due to his failure to repent of his sins. A bishop’s responsibility is a “noble” one (cf. 1 Tim 3:1), as he is charged with leading all souls in his flock to Heaven. He must teach (1 Tim 3:2), govern, and sanctify well (CCC 873), and put no stumbling block in the way of his people as they strive to die to self, confess their sins, conform their will to God’s will, live a life of virtue, and thus dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Should a bishop fail at his task, whether by neglect or malfeasance, he will lose not only his own soul, but countless others–a catastrophe, spanning generations (cf. Ezekiel 3:18-19).

With this sobering and solemn truth in mind, we, a group of concerned lay Catholics in the Phoenix Diocese, have established this website.

Our mission is simple: Out of concern for the salvation of souls, we seek to engage in the fruitful conversation about the direction of the Phoenix Diocese under our bishop, His Excellency John P. Dolan. The Phoenix Catholic community has been vibrant and orthodox for many years now, with a reputation for faithfulness to the ancient, unbroken teachings of Holy Mother Church, as taught through Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. We pray that it will stay that way. However, there are troubling signs indicating that unorthodox changes are being implemented from the top down.

We seek, respectfully, to invoke our rights in canon 212.3, which states:

According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, [the laity] have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.

To that end, we will bring observations and information to this webpage and invite other to do so–whenever we see actions, teachings, pronouncements, or writings from our bishop or diocese which appear to contradict the Deposit of Faith, the universal moral law of God, and the perennial teachings of the Church. The laity have a baptismal right to clarity and orthodoxy in all teachings, and we claim our right from Christ Himself, the Alpha and the Omega, whose Truth is eternal and unchanging. Jesus said, on the day before His crucifixion:

“For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the Truth.” — John 18:37

In obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ and His One, Holy, and Apostolic Church, we dedicate this website and all its discussions to the cause of Truth.
